What We Do
Consultations - New arrival or old friend, we’re here to help. Our consultations are by appointment only. We have 3 consultation blocks throughout the day, so you should be able to book an appointment that suits you. We can arrange a home visit if you are unable to get to the surgery.
Surgery - We have the facilities for routine reproductive surgery to orthopaedic work and soft tissue surgery. We also have comfortable kennels for your pet to recover in.
Medical/Diagnostic Work - We have a wealth of technology in the veterinary world nowadays. X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, chemotherapy and ECG are all at our disposal. We have an in-house laboratory service too, so we are able to do blood testing, urinalysis and cytology, and usually have the results back to you the same day.
Referrals - If we feel that your pet needs the attention of an expert in their field, we will refer your case. We use some of the best referral centres in the country, to go that extra step for your pet.
Dentistry - Healthy teeth and gums are a vital part of your pet’s wellbeing. Both our practices have a dental suite for ultrasonic scaling and dental procedures.
Rabbits, Ferrets and Small Furry Pets! - We have a specialised unit at our Gossops Green surgery for the care of rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas and small rodents. And speaking of experts in their field, Gossops Green’s Head Vet, Mrs Karen Smith, receives referrals from all over the South of England and has a well deserved reputation.
Laser Therapy - This is a really exciting new treatment, providing drug free pain relief and rapid healing for a variety of conditions - wounds, dental and ear disease, dermatitis, and especially the relief of arthritis, aches and pains on older pets. See article.
Nurse Clinics - Our nurses are at the heart of our patient care. We have qualified nurses and trainees as well. Nurses run clinics for overweight pets, dental health, nutrition, flea and worm treatment, older pet problems and routine pre and post-operative care. They are always happy to offer advice.
Pet Passports - Ever thought of taking your pet abroad? We are DEFRA approved for export and health certification, rabies vaccines and appropriate blood testing. For information on the Pet Passport Scheme, see the All About Your Pet section.
